Doora Community Development Group was set up following a public meeting in Gurteen GAA Grounds last March under the guidance of the Rural Development Officer of Clare County Council. The goals of the group are to make improvements to public infrastructure and safety of road users in the main townlands of Doora.

A submission was made by the committee to the County Development Plan to upgrade Noughaval from cluster to village in order to elevate the status of Doora. The first grant approval was received under the Councils Community Supports Scheme for the Doora roadside garden at the crossroads, tidying and replanting work was completed over the Halloween Break.
